Green Smoothie Recipes

  • ¼ lemon
  • 2-3 T flax oil
  • ¾ to 1 lb raw, washed greens, spinach, chard, kale, collards, lettuce, beet greens (mainstays)
  • turnip, mustard, dandelion greens, arugula (use more sparingly  – spicy & bitter)
  • Can include avocado or cabbage or 1-2 stalks celery
  • Puree 90 seconds
  • Gradually add fruit blend about 90 seconds
  • 1-2 bananas
  • 1-2 cups frozen mixed berries
  • Any other fruit to taste – apples, pears peaches, oranges, apricots, cantaloupes with seeds, mangoes, pineapples anything!

Kiwi Sublime

  • 4 ripe kiwi (green or gold, possibly with skin)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 3 sticks celery or one big handful of spinach or 4-6 kale leaves
  • 2 glasses of water

Strawberry Field

  • 2 handfuls of strawberries (including the green crown)
  • 2 Bananas
  • Half bunch romaine lettuce and/or two handfuls of spinach
  • 2 glasses of water

Green Lemonade (intended to be juiced for maximum healing benefits)

  • ½-2 lemons
  • 1 apple or about 10-12 strawberries
  • 4-6 leaves kale or 1 head romaine lettuce, celery, chard, collards, spinach, cucumber etc
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • Stevia or honey to taste

Salad In a Cup (soup of green smoothie)

  • 1 very large handful of spinach
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/8 to ¼ red onion
  • ½ avocado or 1 T extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ zucchini or yellow squash or cucumber
  • A few sprigs of cilantro (optional)
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • About 1 cup of water
  • Pinch of sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Watermelon Cooler

Watermelons have very concentrated amounts of carotenoid lycopene; any other fresh fruit ~ including tomatoes! Lycopene has been known for lowering the risk of many different cancers. Watermelons are also a great source of potassium, magnesium and vitamins A, C, and B6.

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups watermelon (including the rind)
  • 4 handfuls spinach
  • 1 cup water
  • handful of mint (optional)
